Yarn explosion

This is what the livingroom looked liked yesterday afternoon and evening.

Now… it was either the yarn exploded out of the box, or I got my raverly invite (!) It was a wonderful surprise yesterday afternoon when I opened up my mailbox. That innocent little invite… *sigh* For all those that are still waiting, its worth it. Its going to be great. For those who are on raverly my screen name is AmandaCathleen, let me know yours so I can add you as my friend.  Yesterday I also opened a flickr pro account and have loaded massive amounts of pictures, and am still loading more. I am so glad that Mike had to have a cable modem thingy and this wireless network whohaha.  I’m almost done photographing the stash. Just the sock stash remains. I think.

Okay, now I just need to figure out how to add more than one picture from flicker onto my blog… than I’ll feel really, really smart. *grumble*

PS. Almost done with the cascade footie, I’ve run out of yarn and come to terms with it. I’ll be finishing it up with a pink toe. Saw a mouse in my livingroom, bought a few thousand mouse cubes and hopefully catch the little bugger soon. Got the yarn I ordered from the loopy ewe and once I figure out how to post more than one picture at a time I’ll show you, its breathtakingly lovely. Seriosly, this yarn made me stop and sigh. A lot. When I went to get my mail yesterday I saw a peony by my mailbox, I’ll have to talk to the yard guy and tell him not to weed eat it or I’ll kill him. (He desided to weed eat the hosta’s why, I donno.) Finding the peony was a surprise, I’ve never seen one there before. It also makes me smile and remember my Grandma who had them in one of her gardens. It’s been a good few days. Now, onto figurin out that flickr stuff.

  1. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one whose yarn explodes in the living room sometimes! Have fun on ravelry – I’m enjoying keeping on your ever-expanding stash! (Did you know you can subscribe to an rss feed of your friends’ activity?)

  2. Oh – lucky you!! I’m jealous, but sort of glad that I haven’t been invited. Shouldn’t devote the time right now and know that I’d want to!!
    Have fun!

  3. Hi Amanda,

Hello from State College. Have you been back to SYAO since the sock class?

I very much enjoy readying your blog, it’s very entertaining! I have to tell you that red washer and dryer have me a little jealous, I recently bought a set in boring white.

What is the scoop on getting an invite to Ravelry? I met a gal at Maryland Sheep and Wool and she gave me one of their buttons.

  4. That’s great! I’m still waiting for my Ravelry invite. It’s probably a good thing I haven’t gotten it yet as I have so get done between now and the time my kids get out of school next week.

Can’t wait to see the yarn you got from the Loopy Ewe!

  5. If you click on “All Sizes” on a photo page, it will take you to a page where you can select different sizes. Then below you can cut the code and paste it into your blogging software. I don’t use wordpress, but this should help a little. It was months that I was using flickr before I figured this out.

  6. I’m really looking forward to my invite! I started doing the stash organization weeks ago in preparation!

I know you are in PA… how far are you from State College (I noticed someone who posted above is from there…) We’re heading to State College for Artsfest… we’ll be there all weekend!

  7. It seems everyone but me has gotten their invite. Happy for you; sad for me 😦

Maybe I should start sorting out and taking pictures of my stash so I’ll be ready to go when (if) I get my invite.
