So there has been a bit of blog neglect around here lately… I’ve been a bit busy. The kids and I went up to my parents for a few days.
My niece Heather joined the kids and I on a trip to Umpachene water falls in Mill River Massachusetts. We brought a picnic lunch, and enjoyed an afternoon there.
The water was freaking freezing! But once you go in and get back out, sun a little bit on the rocks the water feels just right!
The kids had fun crawling up the rocks, spashing in the water and throwing rocks. I can remember going here when I was a kid, it was wonderful bringing the kids here. There are more pictures in my flickr set.
Corra and Bryce got to go fishing with Pepe.
They didn’t catch any fish, but they did have fun with their Grandpa on the lake. I’m glad I was out of range of their fishing poles!
We went to the town beach a few times, the kids love to go
Mom and I stopped at Wonderful things in Great Barrington before I left and I picked up
A hank of Coulette Jitterbug in Monet and a hank of Smooshy in Good Luck Jade. The smooshy will be turned into Dad’s Christmas socks or Birthday socks… depending on when they get done : )
It was a wonderful 5 days, I wish we could have stayed longer… but we will be back up again before school starts.
Mike was waiting for us when we came home on Sunday, he surprised me with these
These have to be the loveliest roses I’ve seen! Thanks hunny. Mike is going back to work tomorrow afternoon and we are planning on tagging along for a bit. We’ll be in Whinchester Virginia for a bit.
Looks like you’re having a wonderful summer. I’ll take fishing over blogging!! (Actually, I’m getting ready to go home to visit my parents this weekend, where I’ll be found fishing with my father!)
Take care.
We’re heading north to the cottage for a little fishing and swimming this weekend too. We’re in the midst of a heat wave, 38C today and hotter for tomorrow. You are so lucky to have to many nice yarn shops around, I’m so limited here…ciao
Good to hear that you and your sweet kids enjoy the summer. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Oh it looks great! Sunning oneself on a rock is a wonderful way to spend a summer day, 9 out of 10 geckos agree. I can’t wait to see you!
Love the good luck Jade and the roses- purple is my favorite color of rose. And if they have a scent, they smell heavenly – like sweet grapefruit.
That looks absolutely heavenly. Neglect the blog in favor of that! It’ll still be here.
Don’t you just love MA?? I miss it so much. I lived there for a couple of years. If it wasn’t for the long (long, long) winters, I would still be there.
I hope you are having a great end of the summer!
Looks like you all had a good time. That is an adorable picture of Kailey!
Those are gorgeous roses. Hope you all have a safe trip!
That water looks lovely and it looks like the kids had a blast too. I cannot believe it’s August already, where did the summer go?
You are one of my ‘Rockin’ Girl Bloggers’ – that’s for sure. Amazing that you are able to find time for knitting and blogging 🙂
