ah, bloody hell

bloody hell the washing machine is dead. Dead dead dead. And full of water. Did I mention its dead? bloody hell and hell full of water. So, I need to buy a new washer, and hopefully a new dyer. (because the one we have only kinda dries on high… anyway) Anyone have any recommendations? This is going to be so not fun. *urghph*

  1. Yoiks, that’s no fun! My recommendation is something from Sears that’s a step or two down from the top so that it’s decently priced. Grandma’s Sears W/D lasted 30 years, my own are 8 years old this month and showing no signs of wear at all.

  2. Ugh, the fact that it’s dead AND full of water is an extra kick in the butt! We got our washing machine and dryer from Lowe’s (the one near you), we got a Maytag something-or-other. We got a washer with an extra-large capcity washtub, probably useful is you have 4 kids!

  3. Oh wow, have fun emptying the sucker..lol. No really, sorry to hear the news, that’s my greatest fear right now. Mine has been acting weird. If you can afford it buy the new front loaders. They cost more up front but save money in water and do a better job…have a nice day, hugs…ciao

  4. I just researched washers & dryers for our new house. Maytags have the best reviews. I couldn’t decide between a top-loader or front-loader. Top: can felt knitting probjects. Front: generally have larger capacity. Larger capacity won out (I can use my in-law’s washer for felting if necessary!). Here’s what I chose:

  5. You aren’t going to believe that my son JUST called to say the same thing has happened at our house. Washer is dead and full of water. I’m anxious to see the suggestions, because I don’t know about your, buy my house can’t go without a washer/dryer for more than a day or two.

  6. Dead and full of water? Insult to injury! I suck at picking out washer/dryer sets. All the highly recommended ones die on me. Kenmore. Front loaders. I just pick them out by the highly scientfic method of pointing and saying “That one looks good.” So far, so good.

  7. Ugh that sucks. I have a maytag large capacity top loader and I love it. I can stick so much stuff in it and get the laundry done so fast. It’s from Sears. But I am also waiting for the old dryer to die so I have an excuse to go get a new one. 😉
